Delhi & Agra Trip

As a part of our unit on Medieval Indian History, students of grade 6, 7, and 8 went on a trip to Delhi and Agra. This was an amazing opportunity for us to enrich our understanding by seeing the exceptionally beautiful architectures and museums. On 17 November 2016, we left for the trip. We were 41 in number. We reached Delhi at 6:15 in the morning. Then we all moved to the hotel named “Delhi Darbar”. On the first day we visited The Red Fort, Jantar Mantar, India Gate, a Museum as well as renowned market of Delhi “Palika Bazar”.

The next day, after offering of our Fajr prayer and breakfast, we left the hotel to visit historical landmarks like Humayun's Tomb, Rail Museum, Qutub Minar and Jama Masjid. The next day we woke up early in the morning to board the train to Agra at 7:00 am. We reached Agra around 10:00 am and left for Fatehpur Sikri. There we saw the “Buland Darwaza” Asia's Longest Doorway; within its premises was the tomb of Salim Chishti.

We concluded our visit at the Sadar Bazaar and had dinner at a nearby eatery then we boarded the train back home.

This trip made us learn not only about the places we visited but also helped build our self-management skills. This trip was definitely a superb experience for every student.
