Reading Week

Reading Week

“Reading should not be presented to children as a chore, a duty. It should be offered as a gift.” – Kate DiCamillo

‘The Reading Week 2022’ was celebrated at EPS from 29th August to 3rd September 2022. It was meant not only to empower each one of us but to unite us for what is known as the ‘best route to learning and knowledge’. The entire week witnessed great exhilaration and excitement in PYP. The learners explored and experienced the joy of ‘Reading’ and were engaged in a series of events to develop a keen interest in good books and enhance their reading skills. Some of the highlights of the ‘Reading Week’ were :

Day 1: ‘Design a Book Cover or Bookmark’ Competition

Day 2: Reading Buddy

Day 3: Sharing and Caring Readers (Donate and Buy for a Cause)

Day 4: Inter-House Reading Quiz

Day 5: Reading Club

The students thoroughly enjoyed this stress-free week. This initiative is taken by EPS every year to bring a positive change in an age where deep and ardent reading is a fast-fading passion and an abandoned habit among learners and youngsters.

The culmination of this week was a Character Parade, where the students dressed up as their favorite authors and story characters. It was a befitting way to end an exciting Reading Week with great success.
