Department of Physical and Health Education, at Eastern Public School, conducted the most awaited sports event in school, Football and Handball competitions on October 26, 2019. The beautiful green lush ground for football and the colorful court of Handball were prepared for the Annual Inter-House tournaments.
Football and Handball is a very popular sport amongst the students of EPS. As a result, there is always a great atmosphere with amazing commitment and passion from participants. The objective of this tournament is to provide an opportunity for students to take part in sports activities, to assist them in displaying their skills in a fun environment and in teaching students to work as a team and strengthen sportsmanship.
Football matches were played as a knock out basis. It was an inter-house competition and was played between Hazrat Abubakr R.A (Green), Hazrat Umar R. A (yellow), Hazrat Uthman R.A (Blue), and Hazrat Ali R.A (Red).
The semi-final matches started at 8.30 am. The first semi-final was played between Yellow Vs. Green and the second semi-final was played between Blue Vs. Red houses. The students of all the houses cheered their players loudly when their house scored the goal.
Blue and yellow qualify for the finals. Both the teams were really strong, but the Yellow house dominated the game and secured first place in the competition. Blue house, Green house, and Red house bagged second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
In the Handball girls’ event, Green house gave impressive performance and bagged the first position. The second, third, and fourth positions were grabbed by Blue house, Red House, and Yellow house, respectively.
The matches were refereed by Faheem Mohd Khan, Head of the PHE department, an International match official in a very disciplined and sporting manner resulting in great spectacle for the audience.
