The extended essay is an independent, self-directed piece of research, finishing with a 4,000-word paper, which is mandatory for all students. It helps students earn a maximum of 3 bonus points in addition to TOK. An educational session for the Senior School teachers was conducted on October 18, 2022, in order to minimize the knowledge gap. The goal of the “Extended Essay: The Role of a Supervisor” session was to dispel some common misconceptions about the supervision process and lessen the stress involved, and to help the Supervisors understand their roles and responsibilities better.
