Dr. Fraz Ahmed started his academic journey with Eastern Public School, Bhopal in 2011 as an MYP Science Educator and Personal Project Coordinator. This was just after he received a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in Biosciences from Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
In the last 14+ years, Dr. Fraz has been instrumental in guiding the school’s academic transformation. He has been an active participant in many IB workshops (MYP and DP) and was an integral part of the IB MYP and DP authorization and evaluation processes. His role in curriculum planning and implementation helped provide substance to the school’s international academic identity. His passion and leadership led him through several of the key roles such as MYP Associate Coordinator, MYP Coordinator, DP CAS Coordinator, Middle School (Cambridge) Coordinator, IB Diploma Programme Coordinator and Senior School Principal. Along the way, he also went on to secure and obtain B.Ed. and M.Ed. qualifications to further enhance his teaching credentials.
Currently working as the Head of School, Dr. Fraz is an IB Educator Network (IBEN) member and also serves in the prestigious position of an IB Examiner.
A prolific researcher, Dr. Fraz has authored a number of articles in prominent national and international journals during his doctoral research. He received the highly regarded Maulana Azad National Fellowship in 2009–10. Importantly, he co-authored a chapter entitled “Artificial Cardiac Pacemaker – Its Structure, Implantation, and Working” in the scholarly book “Cardiac Functioning, Disorders, Challenges, and Therapies” released by Jaypee Brothers Medical Publishers, New Delhi.
Dr. Fraz is an ardent teacher who believes in being a lifelong learner. He is devoted to developing students with 21st-century learning, global citizenship, and strong ethical values. His philosophy is best expressed in the quote of Nelson Mandela:
